5 Ways to Use a Mini Fridge

By

Refrigerators are one of the best inventions of the 20th century. Just think of where society would be today if we didn’t have refrigerators. With the advent of the mini refridgerator there are even more ways to take advantage of this great invention. In this article we’ll explore 5 ways to use a mini fridge. By the end of this article you should have a few new ideas of how to get the most out of an existing mini fridge or want to run out and get one!

1. At the office. If you work in corporate America, chances are the refrigerator at work is something to be avoided at all costs. Often packed with food that is of questionable age, the common lunchroom refrigerator is not an appealing place to store anything you plan to eat. The best solution is a compact mini fridge that you can put under your desk or in your cubicle.

2. In your dorm. Perfect for all-night study dates, impromptu dorm parties or just as a mini beer fridge, these little cooling devices are great in dorm rooms. Pick up a cheap mini fridge if you’re on a budget, or consider a hot cold mini fridge if you want to keep your pizza warm while you study for finals.

3. On road trips. Nothing beats a cold soda on a cross-country road trip. Pick up a car mini fridge next time you’re planning a long drive and you will wonder how you ever did without one. You can find a portable mini fridge at many big box retailers or search the internet for a great selection.

4. Mini bar. Storing your alcohol in a separate location is a great way to keep it out of the way of underage family members. Knowing you always have chilled champagne on hand can be a great way to strike up a little spontaneous romance after the kids have gone to bed. Who would have known that a mini bar fridge could do so much?

5. Man fridge. If you’re like most men, you like to have a wide variety of beer cold and ready to go. If your wife is like most women, she doesn’t want your beer collection to take up the entire third shelf of the family refrigerator. A great compromise is a mini beer fridge. The guys get their huge beer stash and the women don’t have to think about where to put next week’s groceries. For some reason most women just don't consider "beer" to be groceries.

Conclusion

Whether at work, in the car, at school or at home, chances are a mini fridge can help you in ways you hadn’t considered. Mini fridges are inexpensive and can be found online or at most larger retailers. You can find them in basic black, white and silver and you can even find a pink mini fridge if you look hard enough. Whatever your color preference, do yourself a favor and pick one up at your next available opportunity.

I often find that my drinks aren't cold enough and my food is too cold, so I LOVE my mini fridge - it's a great way to keep them separate and take the pressure off your food fridge so you can eat more!

I hear you on the "man fridge" part. It is a good idea to keep it in the garage too, which is handy for when you want to grab a beer while fiddling with your stuff in the garage.
